Position Title: Cross Country Coach
FLSA Classification: Nonexempt/Seasonal
Reports To: Director of Athletics
The Brandeis School of San Francisco, an independent Jewish day school in San Francisco, seeks an outstanding MIDDLE SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY COACH for the Fall of 2021.
Fall Season: August 16 – November 4, 2021
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
Work directly with the Director of Athletics to develop the growth of the cross country program
Serve as lead in overall planning and execution of the cross country program
Work to develop and implement meet strategies
Lead in planning and organizing of team practice sessions
Ability to coach student athletes individually and in groups.
Manage & lead a coaching staff that includes assistant coaches
Build a positive relationship with all members of the Brandeis School of San Francisco community, including students, faculty/staff, administration and parents
Be a mentor, both in cross country and in life
Previous coaching experience at the high school and/or college level
Previous running experience at the high school and/or college level
A passion for working with adolescents
Time Commitment – must be available for practices and meets Monday through Thursday from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and for Sunday practices
CPR and First Aid (preferred)
Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience
Higher compensation available to those candidates who have a high level of coaching, running or training experience, or those individuals who can commit to coaching multiple seasons
