This position will be responsible for the leadership and management of the University of Notre Dame Swimming and Diving team within established University, NCAA and ACC guidelines. Create a positive team culture to develop student-athletes to be successful in all aspects of the Notre Dame experience. Plan, schedule and implement team practices using individualized and group training. Teach and develop techniques, skills and strategies that will assist student-athletes in competing at the highest level. Schedule, oversee, and monitor training and conditioning. Direct, train, review and develop Assistant Coaches in functions of coaching, recruiting and program administration. Recruit high potential student-athletes by identifying, contacting, visiting, observing and evaluating candidates. Collect appropriate statistical achievements including the collection of academic data. Closely monitor academic status of current student-athletes on a regular basis in conjunction with Academic Services for Student-Athletes and counsel as appropriate. Be knowledgeable of all services available to support ND student-athletes, and how to access them to the benefit of the student-athletes. Adjust practices and competition plans to satisfy academic needs of student-athletes. Ensure adherence to NCAA and University rules for student-athletes, coaches and staff by compiling phone and time logs, processing required forms, and maintaining current knowledge of all NCAA rules. Comply with ACC conference rules where applicable and participate fully in conference coaches meetings. Plan, maintain, review and organize the team budget of a fully funded program, including the purchasing of equipment, and planning and setting up travel arrangements. Participate in media interviews as needed. Represent the Swimming and Diving team at Head Coach, Compliance and other administrative meetings. Represent University through appropriate public relations guidance. Maintain positive relationships and interactions with the local and alumni communities through guest appearances, alumni club visits, outings and other appropriate engagements.


Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree (4 years)
- Minimum of 5 years of collegiate and/or professional coaching experience is required.
- Knowledge of NCAA/ACC rules and regulations is a necessity.
- Ideal candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills in order to represent the University, student-athletes and staff
- Strong administrative skills in order to plan, organize and implement a quality team and program; diagnostic and strategy techniques needed to prepare athletes for competition
